Peer Support Helpline

C5459BF1-3432-4F91-93FF-414E29093D7D.jpe

A safe, non-judgemental, confidential and ANONYMOUS place to talk about any concerns you might have - whether they are big or small.

The helpline gives MUW students an opportunity to connect with volunteers who themselves are university students with shared experiences.

It is a space where student volunteers actively listen, give support and can guide you to appropriate services.

Who are the Peer Support Volunteers?

Well.... it wouldn’t be quite anonymous if we told you :).

However, we can guarantee that our student volunteers are MUW students who were carefully selected by PSYCHE and University Counseling Services.

Our volunteers are caring, empathetic and trustful individuals with a passion for promoting student mental health and wellness.

What should I talk about during a Peer Support Session?

No concerns are off limits!

You can discuss anything that causes you distress, including:

  • Exams

  • Relationships

  • Family issues

  • Anxiety

  • Loneliness

  • Depression

  • Anger or Frustration

  • Concerns about a friend

Please note that this is not a therapy session. Our student volunteers will give you the best support to their abilities and can refer you to MUW University Counseling Services if requested or necessary.

Are the conversations confidential?

YES! All student volunteers are obligated to maintain confidentiality.

In addition, the conversations are continuously monitored by University Counseling Services to ensure that students receive the proper care and support.
